First Take . . .

A few years ago, I bought a software program that is basically a digital 32 track recorder. Well . . . I just figured out how to convert the recorded files to mp3 format.

This is my first shot at making a recording ( in other words, it's a little rough). I'm playing two guitars here-dubbed of course.

No pressure - I'm not fishing for compliments here. But I would like some help in naming this piece. So if you listen to it and a title comes to mind, please leave a comment.

Is there anything you cannot do? Talent on parade . . .

I have seen him eagle a par 5 at the local golf course, but he'll never slam dunk a basket ball.

I remember that piece, Dayle. I was wondering when you'd break it out of the closet. Nice!

Title suggestion: "A Little Dreamin'"

Yeah, Jerry, there's a lot that I can't do, but we don't have that much comment space.

And contrary to what Ryan said, he's never seen me at the kiddie hoops. 7ft goal = no problem. (if you give me three tries and a small trampoline)

Nicole - I like it.

Summer Breezes comes to mind. But dreamin is good, too.
Maybe we're dreamin in the breezes.

Golly, Dayle. Is there anything you don't do? Painting, writing, photography, music. What's tomorrow? A video of you performing a script you wrote yourself in Latin, wearing a costume you designed and sewed yourself with a needle you widdled out of bone?
I like the recording. My friend Bill, over at Art 4 the HEart, is something of an expert (really) on all things with strings and also with multi-media and recording. If you ever have a question, I know he'd love to chat. Let me know. Anyway, I thought it was lovely. I won't try to name it. I think that needs you come from somewhere in YOUR soul (how's that for a cop-out?)

Couple of things:

1) Nicole and Kay's recommendations reflect the reason I've never named it. I recorded this in one take (one for each track) just to test the program. So I just sat there and let something flow out. But I was in a melancholy mood at the time so I was kind of shooting for a sad introspective thing. But it came out sounding positive.

2) Wow, Janet, How did you know I could carve bones into sewing needles?

You've been readng my mind. What I really stink at is recording. I'm still not sure how to record something that can be made into a video with pictures such as Bill did. His audio journals are very good. Blogger video insert only recognizes Mpeg and other video files. So earlier, while at the Edge, I was thinking I should ask Bill how he does that.

I listened to it again, and I get the introspective part.
Maybe Melancholy Smile. Or Melancholy Dreamin.
It seems to have the layers of both sadness and joy.
