On Writing . . .

Use your imagination. Trust me, your lives are not interesting. Don't write them down.

Uh-oh. Guess it's back to the drawing board with my newest series idea .... ; )

Well, the CURRENT life is downright boorr-hooring. Yawn. So no kidding. But the glory days? Yeah, there still may be a few moments that could spark a story.

It's all about writing what we know, right? (Um, that's a wee bit of a joke.)

Later gator!!

I don't completely agree with this quote, but I do like the tone of it.

Some lives are certainly interesting enough to consitute a book. But MOST ain't.

But even in the ones that are, there's usually a lot of poetic license going on.

But, Donna. Your life would be perfect for a best seller. Imagine a published author who occasionally works at a hotel where she keeps lonely travelers locked in the basement and tortures them until they come up with good story ideas to weave into her best sellers.

BTW, I saw the Simpsons Movie last night and they had a hotel called The Red Rash Inn.

Ooooh, Donna Fleisher reads your blog? I reviewed 2 of her books and loved them.

My life is not interesting? You'd be surprised:)

Hey Janet! Yup, I like to hang around here from time to time. Beats working. ; ) (Thanks for loving my stuff!)

And Dayle -- it's more like a published author who works part-time at a motel where the lonely travelers (insane, most of 'em are) love to torture her about the lack of discounts, the need for extra pillows and towels, and other such nonsense. Oh, to be free of the nonsense ....

Soon, by the way. Soon as Z okays my next proposal. I'll be eatin' Top Ramen for months, but it'll be worth it. ; )

Love your blog banner, by the way ... so peaceful .....

I took that picture in the Great Smoky Mountains on a beautiful autumn day.

I'll post the uncropped version of it one day. It always brings me back to that peaceful moment.
